Agile Monkey is proud to be a host site for Balanced Body, a world renowned Pilates & Core Align Instructor training program that is designed to create thoughtful, creative and successful movement educators. The program is taught by Master Instructors Lisa Graham, Arwen Brooke, Jeannette Normington and Ky Carnell-Russel, who are all deeply committed to a thorough and transformative educational experience. Lisa was one of the first instructors in the country invited to become a Balanced Body Master instructor, and has been involved in the development of the education materials and curriculum since 2007.

At Agile Monkey, we are passionate about creating a positive movement experience for our clients and fostering opportunities for education and growth for our instructors. We never stop learning and we love teaching.  We welcome all students and are honored to be a part of their journey from students to teachers. Our amazing graduates range in age from their 20's to 70's and have backgrounds just as diverse. Our students include medical professionals looking to add skills to their practice, fitness trainers, professional athletes/dancers who want to find a way to use their passion towards a new career, and people who only started moving with purpose later in life and are looking for something that inspires them to get and stay fit - all are welcome!

Our Pilates training starts in February with the Balanced Body Movement Principles, which is the pre-requisite for all other modules in the program, and helps to build a solid understanding of the science behind, and profound importance of, mindful movement foundations. We then explore the full repertoire on the Mat, Reformer and Apparatus (Cadillac, Chair & Barrels) in levels. This allows a truly immersive experience in the Pilates Methodology, and allows students to become stronger as the program progresses. As the modules advance they become more physically demanding, but they also reinforce the exercises and concepts that has already been presented. With each successive module, we will continuously delve deeper into the mechanics, cueing, benefits and modifications of each exercise.

The program is flexible, so you can choose to do the Comprehensive program (as described above) or limit your training to just Mat and/or Reformer. Or you can start the program this year, and finish next year.  There are many choices, and we are happy to help you understand your options for both Pilates and CoreAlign.

Agile Monkey is one of the few host sites that encourages repeat attendance. We allow all of our graduates to audit future modules for a nominal fee. We strongly believe that continued exposure to the material helps you take in the information at a much deeper level and all of our graduates who have audited our program have shared that it was a priceless experience because they learned a lot more the second time around, and also had the confidence building experience of realizing how much more they knew then when they first started.

Read more about the program details on the Balanced Body website.  If you are interested in becoming a Pilates and/or CoreAlign instructor, or have any questions about the program, please call or email Lisa Graham, owner of Agile Monkey.

"Lisa and Arwen have done an excellent job in teaching, guiding and inspiring from the beginning to the end of each module. I highly recommend!"

Very few people start the program being able to successfully complete the advanced exercises. By offering the courses by levels, your skills will advance as the program develops. And if you need more time, you can always start with the Level 1 modules and then continue the following year.
