Lisa Graham is the founder of Agile Monkey, as well as a senior certified instructor, Balanced Body Master Instructor for Pilates & Core Align, and published author.
 
Lisa was first introduced to Pilates at UCLA in 1993, where she received her Bachelors in Dance while also studying kinesiology and anatomy. She received her formal Pilates training from Ellie Herman in San Francisco and became a Master Instructor for Balanced Body in 2007 (as part of the very first group of Balanced Body educators).
 
Since joining Balanced Body, Lisa has been part of the Education development team, assisting with all of the instructor training materials. 
 
In 2013, Lisa was named a CoreAlign Master Instructor by the systems creator, Jonathan Hoffman.  Lisa was integral in the Core Align Curriculum redesign and development at Balanced Body and is thrilled to teach clients and instructors about the profoundly positive impact that Core Align training can have on a persons posture, agility and overall condition.
 
 
As an educator, Lisa has trained instructors locally, across the United States and internationally. Her students have gone on to great success and now teach all over the globe, as well as right here at Agile Monkey. She is honored to be able to pass on her knowledge and mentor a new generation of Pilates and CoreAlign Instructors.
 
Lisa established Agile Monkey in 2007 and expanded it to its current location in 2012. Lisa works with a broad spectrum of clients and instructors on a daily basis, and is always excited to see what a profound impact the practice of Pilates and CoreAlign can have on an individual.
 

Karen Christiansen

Senior Certified Pilates Instructor & Certified Scoliosis Specialist.  


Karen is a teacher, healer and lifelong learner. She uses a holistic approach to her teaching addressing the body mind, and spirit. When you train with Karen, her nurturing personality supports personal growth and empowerment. She educates you to understand how to take care of your own body to eliminate faulty movement patterns that could lead to pain or injury.

Karen has been teaching Pilates for fifteen years, and is certified by two internationally renowned programs: the Physical Mind Institute as well as Body Arts & Science International (BASI). In addition, she has extensive training working with clients with Scoliosis. One of her long time clients (ten years) has seen dramatic results and shared this testimonial: “After a session with Karen I stand taller and straighter, and my body is noticeably more balanced. I am free of discomfort and walk away feeling better about the way I look and feel! I will never stop working with Karen.

 

Karen is equally comfortable teaching a full range of fitness levels from athletic to rehab oriented. She has been able to help her clients with back, neck, shoulder, knee, hip and foot issues, and is experienced working with clients who have Osteoporosis, Scoliosis, MS, Parkinson's disease, and Spinal Stenosis. Her greatest joy comes from showing people how Pilates relates to their daily life helping to eliminate pain, and create strong flexible bodies. This fast paced and challenging class will focus on flow, expanding repertoire and advanced cueing strategies.

Please note that all of our Reformer classes will organized at the discretion of the instructor and interest of the clients, and may utilize some time on the mat or other equipment (Tower, Chair, Barrels, etc) to ensure the best class experience.
